The SNP are rotten from the top down. A morally bankrupt and corrupt government. A party bitterly divided by internal warfare.

This is the product of 14 years in power in Scotland, yet they will ask you to vote for them again in May.

Why reward this with your support? If they gain a parliamentary majority in May then nothing will change. Our educational standards will continue to slide, the attainment gap in our schools will increase, our NHS will continue to struggle and more jobs and businesses will be lost.

We almost eradicated the coronavirus in Scotland last summer, yet only now towards the end of February has the Scottish Government decided to close our borders and quarantine visitors to Scotland. Too little, too late.

Make no mistake: this was not a UK decision, this power lies with Scotland in Holyrood. There is no one else to blame. It’s another power which the SNP chose not to use.

The pictures from Glasgow last week of hundreds of homeless people queuing in the snow in George Square to be fed was both heartbreaking and shameful. This happened in SNP-run Glasgow, Nicola Sturgeon’s home city.

I don’t think she should resign if she is found to have breached the ministerial code and if it is decided that she has misled Parliament. I think she and her whole sorry failed government should be shown the door in May because of their record in government.

As you may know by now, I am standing in the Scottish Parliamentary election in May to be the MSP for Clydebank and Milngavie.

I live in Clydebank with my family. I won’t prioritise the constitution and separatism.

I will prioritise closing the attainment gap in our schools and investing in education in West Dunbartonshire, to help our hardworking teachers and school staff support our young people who have lost so much of their schooling over the last year.

I will prioritise the NHS and the care sector. Never again should we have to make the choice between treating people with Covid or treating people with cancer. I will campaign for a minor injury hospital to be set up here in Clydebank as part of a health hub at the waterfront. I will focus on rebuilding the local economy in Clydebank, and I will fight to protect local jobs and businesses.
