There are lots of great things happening in Ward 14 in Glasgow at the moment.

I am really pleased to see Netherton Community Centre has reopened and is looking great after its renovation. It has all new windows and floor coverings and has been treated to a great facelift which will be brilliant for the local community to use.

There are lots of rooms for hire for community groups, dancing, mother and toddlers – the possibilities are endless.

I look forward to seeing this space being used to its full potential to the benefit of the local community.

To celebrate this transformation and further the community consultation that has been happening to do with phase 2 of the renovations of Netherton Community Campus, there are a number of events coming up.

A community meal and ceilidh will be held in conjunction with the Celtic Connections Festival on Friday, January 24. The community meal cost £1 and the ceilidh is free. Both start at 5.30pm and finish at 8.30pm. Phone or drop into Netherton Community Centre to book.

It’s also the time of year where social isolation is at its worst due to the weather. Please remember your neighbours who may not be as active as you might be and go and see them from time to time and let’s help each other as a community.

If there are issues that I can help with please do not hesitate to get in touch.
