I AM really looking forward to attending the Clydebank Musical Society Junior’s upcoming show this Saturday.

“Our House” will be performed October 23-26 at Clydebank Town Hall including a matinee performance on Saturday October 26.

The Junior section has been rehearsing hard and I know they will put on another terrific performance. There’s still time to grab tickets so please get down to the town hall for what promises to be a great show.

The cost imposed by the SNP council on the group to hire our town hall remains ridiculously high at almost £10,000. The CMS have to fundraise hard all year to meet these costs so can I encourage everyone to snap up any last minute tickets. We should be incredibly proud of our young people who perform and congratulate the CMS for their work with the youth of our town.

Labour’s Westminster candidate, Jean Anne Mitchell, arranged for another community group to attend a meeting of the Labour Group of Councillors at Clydebank Town Hall this month. We were delighted to receive a delegation from the residents’ group Save Linnvale Greenspace.

They attended with Labour members to explain their anger at the potential loss of greenspace in the Linnvale area to housing. Ms Mitchell will continue to work closely with the residents of the Linnvale group as they continue their fight on behalf of the community.

I have been out and about Clydebank this month with Ms Mitchell’s campaign team. The Labour Party is being well received on the doorsteps. Many residents have expressed how fed up they are with the SNP’s cutbacks which have hit our community hard over the last couple of years.

Clydebank voters are telling us they are fed up with the mess the SNP are making of our NHS and with hospital delays, the attainment figures dropping in schools and the unfair charges introduced for social care.

People complain about the cost of community alarms being almost the highest in Scotland and also the condition of our town with grass in green spaces going uncut. Many are coming back to Labour and will vote Labour at the next election. Come back to Labour and we will clear up this mess.
