Life is just full of referendums. But I’m sure you all are exhausted and totally frustrated by now with that word.

It is still important to remember that referendums in practice do and should enable and encourage people to participate within important decision-making processes.

Decisions that ultimately effect each and every one of us, as well as our families and the communities we live and work in.

So whilst it is disheartening in some ways, please in some shape or form, be aware of the many ways you can make changes and have your voice heard.

There are strong voices within the local community councils that meet in your area, times of which are often displayed within this newspaper.

So if you feel you have an issue, or even better still, have some suggestions on how you think it could or should be resolved, please do not hesitate to attend in person if you have the time.

I am sure you will be warmly welcomed by the committee and fellow residents.

Even if you can’t attend, you can still write, email, or phone the secretary or chairperson, to get your point across.

You can also be heard via the council website or app, and remember - your voice is important.

For me, it is such an honourable position as an elected member, that I can help give those a voice who feel unable to do speak out for themselves.

Together, we can challenge some of the system that people have difficulty in accessing.

So please, do not hesitate to contact me if there is any problem or council issue you would like to raise or discuss on anne.mctaggart@ glasgow.gov.uk or on 0141 2874458.

Key point throughout though is; Remain positive, stay strong, help others as let your views be heard, it’s important.
