POLICE have released an image of a woman they wish to speak to after a bus passenger was assaulted.

The incident happened on board a bus in Paisley at around 6.50pm on Monday, June 25, 2018.

A woman boarded a McGill's bus in Smithhills Street. As she made her way to sit down, she was verbally abused by another passenger before being assaulted.

Officers have released an image of a woman who may have information that could assist with the investigation.

The woman is described as small, heavier build, with shoulder length blonde hair and black glasses. She was wearing a grey vest top, three quarter length blue jeans and white trainers.

Constable Allan Boyle, of Paisley Police Station, said: “This was a disgraceful assault on a woman and I am appealing to anyone who either witnessed what happened, or recognises the women we wish to speak with, to please get in touch.
