ScotRail has announced the return of its Family Pass, offering a week of unlimited train travel for just £60.

The pass, designed to help families make the most of the October school holidays, allows up to two adults and four children to travel together for seven consecutive days on ScotRail services across Scotland.

Claire Dickie, ScotRail’s commercial director, said: "Our Family Pass has proved a really popular way for families to get out and explore Scotland together during the school holidays, so we’re pleased to bring it back again this October.

"With unlimited travel for seven consecutive days, families have the freedom to plan several days out, visit friends and relatives, or simply decide where they want to go on the day.

"We want rail to be an easy and affordable choice for families, and the Family Pass offers great flexibility for making the most of the October break."

The ticket is now available for purchase until Monday, October 19, 2026, and travel can start on any day between Monday, October 12 and Monday, October 19, 2026.

The final day of valid travel is Sunday, October 25, 2026.

Travel is permitted after 9.15am on weekdays and at any time during weekends.

The pass is not valid for journeys to or from Lockerbie and Reston.

Ideal for trips to the coast, city outings, or visits to friends and family, the pass gives families the freedom to explore Scotland by rail as often as they wish during the week.

Dickie said: "We want rail to be an easy and affordable choice for families, and the Family Pass offers great flexibility for making the most of the October break."

The pass cannot be used in conjunction with any railcards, discounts, or other promotional fares.

It is available for purchase through the ScotRail website, at ticket offices, or on board trains when boarding at stations without ticket-buying facilities.

A minimum of one adult and one child is required for the pass to be valid, with a maximum group size of two adults and four children.

This is the third time ScotRail has offered the Family Pass, following its initial launch in October last year and its return during the Easter holidays.

ScotRail is encouraging families to take advantage of the offer to explore more of Scotland by train during the October school holidays.
