Clydebank nursery staff raised nearly £2000 by taking on a mud-filled charity challenge.

Colleagues from Children Hour Nursery completed the Pretty Muddy 5K and raised a total of £1840 in support of Cancer Research UK.

The event, part of the national Race for Life series, saw the team tackle a 5km obstacle course, crawling, climbing and sliding through mud.

Inspired by the impact of cancer on so many lives, the team described the event as a meaningful way to contribute to scientific progress and show solidarity with those affected by the disease.

They also expressed gratitude to friends, family and the local community for backing their fundraising efforts.

A spokesperson for Children Hour Nursery said: "Taking part in Pretty Muddy was a fantastic experience for our staff team.

"It was challenging, fun and incredibly rewarding to know that our efforts will help support vital cancer research.

"We are overwhelmed by the support we received and proud to have raised £1840 for such an important cause."

The money raised will support Cancer Research UK’s work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, aiming to improve survival rates and bring forward new scientific breakthroughs.

Pretty Muddy events continue to be part of the Race for Life series, offering an accessible and energetic way for people of all ages and abilities to support cancer research.
