Two charities in West Dunbartonshire are set to reach a major milestone each as they celebrate 30 years combined service by helping residents across the area.
Two separate motions are being brought before members of West Dunbartonshire Council later this afternoon to mark the tenth anniversary of the Clydebank Men’s Shed and the 20th anniversary of Haldane Youth Services.
The motion being presented by councillor William Rooney highlights the good work the Men’s Shed does in supporting men in Clydebank and beyond.
It reads: “Clydebank Men’s Shed will celebrate its tenth anniversary with an open day on the 5th of August 2026.
“The Men’s Shed was established in 2016, and is marking ten years of supporting men in Clydebank and beyond.
“Clydebank Men’s Sheds plays an important role as a community hub where men connect through shared activities, foster solidarity, and form lasting friendships.
“Over the last decade, it has been vital to help to tackle isolation and support mental health and wellbeing.
“Council agrees to recognise and promote the positive impact Clydebank Men’s Shed has had on men’s health and wellbeing over the past ten years, and we recognise the work of all those involved and wish them continued success over the coming years.”
