A Clydebank road has shut for almost a month, as work gets underway on a new housing development.

Ottawa Crescent in Dalmuir has closed from today (June 8) as work on 21 new homes at the former Frank Downie House care home begins.

West Dunbartonshire Council announced that the small street will shut until as construction traffic moves in.

The crescent will close 60m from the junction with Dumbarton Road until July 3, 2026.

Last year, CCG Scotland Ltd have submitted plans to West Dunbartonshire Council to create four new blocks of flats and homes.

The blocks are to take shape in the form of a flattened block, bungalows and a cottage flat.

Included in the development will be associated landscaping, parking and bicycle provision and a community garden.
