A man admitted having a screwdriver in a supermarket and refusing to leave, a court has heard.

Jay Haggerty appeared from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on June 3 where he pleaded guilty to the incident.

He was at the Asda in Clydebank on March 1 and acted in a threatening and abusive manner towards three members of staff.

The 28-year-old shouted, swore, and repeatedly entered the store despite being asked to stop.

He also had the screwdriver in a public place.

Haggerty, listed as a prisoner of Low Moss, was on bail at the time.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry deferred sentence until June 30 and remanded him in custody.
