Lomond Lounge Sports Bar in Dumbarton has been given permission to show all games taking place during the international tournament with some games beginning as late as 3am.
During a meeting of the authority's Licensing Board it was considered that an extension could only be granted to games involving the Scottish National Team and will not cover any other games in the tournament.
However, concerns were raised about the matches taking place within Scotland's group not being included in the policy.

Councillor Lawrence O'Neill said: "I am currently happy to go with the clerk's recommendation but what about the other games that take place within Scotland's group?
"There is only won other that could be included within it if members are minded to accept but add one other game."
The Brazil vs Haiti match will commence at around 1.30am in the UK, meaning it would require the additional extension whilst the two other Group C games kick-off at 11pm.
This was agreed by councillors at the meeting.

In the same meeting, the first establishment to apply for the extended hours licence, Lomond Lounge Sports Bar, sought approval, however, they were asking for permission to show all matches taking place during the tournament.
An agent on behalf of the establishment said: "There’s two fixtures that don’t fall within those two groups. My submission is that those matches are special in Dumbarton. It is a sports bar, they show football and other sports all the time.
"With that in mind the World Cup has been the highlight of the year, there is massive interest in it even if Scotland is not involved in the later stages.
"There will be people living and visiting Dumbarton who have an interest in other games."
Councillors then agreed to grant the special licence to show all games within the World Cup.
