A Clydebank-founded social enterprise has been honoured for its impact in the community.

The Lennox Partnership (TLP) received the Community Award at HSBC UK’s Small Business Growth Awards for Scotland and Northern Ireland held at The Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow on Tuesday, May 12.

TLP, a not-for-profit social enterprise established in 1988 to support Clydebank’s regeneration following industrial decline, was celebrated for its leadership in Scotland’s employability support sector.

Tony Minchella, director of business development at The Lennox Partnership, said: "We’re incredibly proud to have received the Community Award at this year’s HSBC UK Small Business Growth Awards.

"As a social enterprise, we are committed to bringing more people across Scotland into the world of work – and providing the support needed to overcome barriers.

"This recognition of the important work we do means a great deal to the whole team, who put community first every day."

Over the past decade, The Lennox Partnership has helped more than 19,000 people start their journey towards employment, with more than 9000 going on to secure jobs across the country.

The organisation supports young people, families, justice-impacted individuals, and those with health or neurodiverse conditions.

Once locally focused, the enterprise now operates across nine of Scotland’s most deprived local authority areas.

Ann Flanagan, regional director for Scotland and Northern Ireland at HSBC UK, said: "The businesses recognised are exactly the type of organisations the awards are all about.

"All of the winners and nominees have grown and strengthened their offerings, each playing a vital role in driving the UK economy.

"The community businesses recognised have also connected with communities across Scotland and Northern Ireland to offer meaningful and supportive opportunities to connect, and we’re proud to recognise that impact through such a strong combination of ambition, resilience and purpose."

Delivered in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), the awards celebrate the vital role small businesses play in driving the UK economy and supporting communities nationwide.

Guy Hinks, FSB Scotland chair, said: "Huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners.

"Their achievements show the breadth, creativity and resilience that define small businesses across Scotland.

"Backing them and celebrating their success is exactly why FSB exists – to champion the small business owners without whom our economies and communities wouldn’t exist."

Other winners at the event included Glasgow’s Green Fulfilment, Woodlands Glencoe, and Inclusive Play in Midlothian.

Northern Ireland-based businesses Jenn’s Gym Neuro Fitness Centre, Loughview Health Ltd, and Interview Skills Coach were also recognised.
