Organised and hosted by home manager Nicola Dow, the event gave nurses a chance to relax, share stories and reflect on their careers, while enjoying food, soft drinks and a small gift of thanks.

The event also offered time for residents to express their gratitude, describing the team’s "kindness, patience and support" as an essential part of daily life at Kingsacre.

Nicola Dow said: "Our nurses do an incredible job every single day, showing compassion, dedication and professionalism to our residents and their families.

"International Nurses Day was the perfect opportunity to thank them for everything they do and to ensure they felt recognised and appreciated."

International Nurses Day is celebrated each year on May 12 to mark the birthday of Florence Nightingale.
