Sex offender removed from Clydebank home by protection group

Two convicted sex offenders have been removed from their Clydebank homes by police after crowds turn up on their doorsteps.

In separate incidents on Wednesday, May 6, police were called to two addresses in connection with a group standing outside the homes of the offenders.

Police were first called to an address in Whitecrook at around 6.30pm where it is understood a man who was jailed for the abuse of two sisters several years ago.

Footage taken by a self-titled "child protection service," Awareness Protection Group appear to show the man being escorted by officers from the home after the group of people had congregated at the property.

It is understood the man was convicted of offences against the youngsters when one of the girls was as young as three and the other six years old.

He was jailed for a period of two years and placed him on the sex offenders register for 10 years.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.30pm on Wednesday, 6 May, 2026, we were called to a report of a crowd gathered at an address on Johnston Avenue in Clydebank.

"Officers attended and engaged with the crowd, which dispersed."

Later on that night, at around 10pm, another man who was convicted for asking two random women to perform a sex act was forced from his home by an angry crowd gathered outside a Faifley home.

Police were called to the address where it is understood the man was staying.

It is understood the man was convicted of directing a sexual verbal communication at each of the complete strangers without their consent for the purposes of sexual gratification or of humiliating, distressing, or alarming each of the women.

He was given a community payback order with 18 months of supervision by social workers following.

He was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work in the community and was put on the sex offenders register for 18 months.

The man is understood to have been removed from the home by officers in a police van.

The crowd was then dispersed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.40pm on Wednesday, 6 May, 2026, we were called to a report of a crowd gathered at an address on Abbeylands Road in Faifley.

"Officers attended and engaged with the crowd, which dispersed."
