West Dunbartonshire Leisure (WDL) has warned residents their accounts could be 'locked' as they implement a new rule.

After a series of no-shows at their fitness classes, the management team has introduced a new four-hour cancellation policy.

The rule means customers who don't cancel before this time and don't turn up to the class will be marked as a no-show.

Three no-shows in one week will result in the customer's account being locked until it can be reviewed by staff.

A spokesperson for WDL says the action is being taken in order to allow for a fairer chance of attending for those waiting on a space.

They added: "We are officially introducing a 4‑hour cancellation requirement for all scheduled fitness classes. This change will give customers who are genuinely waiting on a space a much fairer chance of attending. No shows for classes will count toward our weekly limit.

"Please note: 3 no‑shows in one week will lead to your online account being locked until reviewed by staff.

"Thank you for your cooperation as we implement this updated policy."

We previously reported, last month, that no-shows at fitness classes were impacting the trust’s coaches, planning, and members who are “stuck on waitlists”.

WDL warned that if it continued, they would have “no choice” but to introduce a fee for missed classes.
