A Clydebank resident has been left 'shaken' after a thief broke into their home and stole money and jewellery.

Between 11pm on Saturday, April 25 and 5am the next day, a man entered a property on Second Avenue.

A three-figure sum of cash and a quantity of jewellery were snatched from the home.

Officers have now opened an investigation into the incident and are appealing for help in tracking down the man.

He has been described as around 20 years old, of slim build and clean shaven.

The suspect is believed to have been wearing a black jacket with a hood.

Detective Constable Iain McGill said: “Thankfully no-one was hurt as a result of this incident but the resident was left understandably shaken.

“I am appealing for anyone who has any information or who may have seen someone matching this description to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone in the area with dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to get in touch.”
