A planning application has been submitted to transform an empty plot of land in the north-west of the city.
The proposal, by Keepmoat Homes, seeks to transform the 29.3-hectare area into a housing development.
Previously, it was home to post-war houses and schools, which have since been demolished.
Documents stated: "The land is now vacant and presents a significant brownfield development opportunity for regeneration and placemaking."
Also included in the site is a heavily wooded area that borders the site on the northern edge and the former St. Pius Roman Catholic Church building, now used for storage.
The land is bisected by Kinfauns Drive and Linkwood Drive and, according to papers, could help Drumchapel transform into a "pleasant and well-connected place to live, with improved access to services, green infrastructure, and opportunities for social interaction".

The proposed development would be made up of 559 units, including terraced, detached and semi-detached homes ranging from two to four bedrooms.
Part of the homes will be affordable housing to be managed by a registered social landlord (RSL).
Other homes will be for private rent and sold to an investor who will manage the rental of them.
A "retained and enhanced" open space will also be included in the scheme, along with an improvement on the woodlands, reinstatement of much of the historical street pattern and walking and cycling routes.
The application also explained that the development would be built over an eight-year period and that there would be no flats included in it.
Glasgow City Council planning officials are considering the bid and a decision is expected by Friday, July 31.
