Two ‘incredible’ runners have raised more than £5000 for a Clydebank hospice in memory of their late grandfather.

Stephanie and Megan took on the Florence Marathon to support St Margaret of Scotland Hospice which cared for their granddad.

Their efforts have been recognised as not just a feat of physical endurance but a touching tribute to their late family member.

The funds raised from the duo’s efforts will play a “crucial” role in allowing the hospice to continue providing “specialist care and comfort” to families facing challenging times.

In a statement on Facebook, St Margaret of Scotland Hospice said: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Stephanie, Megan and all their friends and family who so generously contributed to their fundraising pages.

“Your support and kindness mean the world to us and will make a profound difference in the lives of those we serve.

“To Stephanie, Megan and everyone who supported them along the way, thank you for being shining examples of compassion, generosity and the power of community.

“Your dedication to our Hospice and the families we serve is an inspiration to us all.”
