Care home residents are rediscovering memories through learning a new language.
Kingsacre Care Home, in Clydebank, has been running a 10-week French course led by Caroline from Glasgow-based business Lingo Flamingo.
The programme, which included conversational French, cultural discussions and songs, was attended by residents Gordon, Lizbeth, Mary G, Mary M, Diane and Helen.
For many participants, the lessons reignited meaningful memories.

The sessions blended learning with laughter through pronunciation exercises, games and sing-alongs.
Rosi from the Lingo Flamingo teaching team said: “We are delighted with the success of the residents on the French course with Caroline.
“They have engaged in all activities – French pronunciation, games, reminiscing, sing-alongs – and brought lots of laughter and joy to the class every week.
“It is amazing when people realise how much fun they can have learning a language at any age.
“Kingsacre is very special for us.
“The residents have run Lingo courses in multiple languages over the years, many have gained diplomas and some qualified for a National 2 award.
“We are very grateful to the staff members who have supported us in making this possible for the residents.”
The French lessons are part of a wider programme of activities designed to keep residents stimulated, connected and learning.

Nicola Dow, home manager, said: “It has been fantastic to have Lingo Flamingo here with us at Kingsacre again, supporting our residents to learn some of the French language.
“The residents have thoroughly enjoyed learning week by week, and it has also helped to trigger great memories for one of our residents in particular, who has spent a lot of time in France with her family previously.
“We look forward to welcoming Lingo Flamingo back to Kingsacre in future to see what else we can learn.”
