In support of Mr Swinney's comments, Ms McNair said: “People across Clydebank and Milngavie can see the progress being made under SNP leadership – in our public services, our economy and in supporting families through tough times.
“This election is about hope, choosing a future where decisions are made in Scotland, our energy wealth works for our people, and we build a country that is fairer, greener and more prosperous.
“Scotland could be in the early days of a better nation; we just need to vote for it.
“That’s what the SNP is offering – trusted leadership and a positive vision for Scotland as we progress on our journey towards taking our place in the world as a wealthy, European nation with the fresh start of independence.”
