A man threatened to rape and murder two women after a feud with his father.

Police were called to a Yoker home at 2am on September 10 last year.

As they arrived, they saw Stephen Bell and his father, Stephen Bell, having a conversation.

Officers removed Stephen Bell Jnr and took him to the street.

As cops opened the vehicle, he shouted: “Take the cuffs off and I will murder you”.

They had cause to take him to the ground as he continued to be aggressive and said: “I will rape you”.

After that, more police arrived and the 25-year-old was arrested and taken to Clydebank police station.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court this week, after he pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, threatening the officers - Catriona Cook and Jade Lindsay - in a violent and sexual manner.

He also admitted to resisting arrest and obstructing, hindering them in their duty.

His solicitor said: "My client is Stephen Bell Jnr. It was a family feud.

"His father was the accused and the one they were interested in. He apologises for his conduct. He is a different man than he was last year, mostly because of the community payback order."

Sheriff Collette Gallagher said: "You will appreciate this is a serious matter. I am concerned because the threats were serious.

"They were public servants who were there on duty.

"It’s clear that you are committed to your recovery journey. I am pleased to see that your community payback order will run until April."

Bell was tagged for 108 days, forcing him to stay indoors between 7pm and 7am each day.
