An SNP MSP has praised the "hard work and resilience" of young people on results day.
Marie McNair, the MSP for Clydebank and Milngavie, said students should be proud of the work they have done as they receive their exam results.
She said: “Today is a moment of pride for so many young people and their families.
“I want to congratulate everyone receiving their results.
“You’ve worked hard, adapted to challenges and shown real determination to reach this point.
“Well done.”

Results day marks the culmination of years of study; however, it is also a time to look to the future and consider all the available opportunities.
In that light, McNair has highlighted the support available for pupils and families considering their next steps.
“That’s why the Scottish Government ensures every young person has access to free, professional guidance, from Skills Development Scotland (SDS) helplines to local careers centres and school-based advisers.
“The SNP firmly believes in equality of opportunity.
“Whatever the results, the routes ahead remain rich and varied, whether into university, college, apprenticeships, training or gainful work.
“There’s no wrong path.”

SDS offers a free results helpline, which provides guidance on a variety of topics, including UCAS confirmation and clearing, further education vacancies, apprenticeships and job opportunities.
The helpline, staffed by experienced careers advisers, is available at 0808 100 8000, and will be open from 8am to 8pm on August 5 and 6, and 9am to 5pm on August 7 and 8.
In Clydebank, students can also access one-to-one guidance by dropping into the SDS careers centre at Clydebank Shopping Centre, which will be open throughout results week.
Moreover, support is available for any young person feeling anxious or overwhelmed, with mental health resources from See Me Scotland and Clear Your Head.
McNair added: “I’m proud that throughout Clydebank and Milngavie, young people have direct access to SDS centres and national helplines staffed by skilled advisers ready to support from the moment results drop.
“Our community is stronger when no one feels left behind.”
