A woman accused of falsely claiming to be pregnant to extort more than £7,000 from a man has a warrant out for her arrest.

Georgette Ravette, 28, allegedly threatened the man at her home in Clydebank between August 31 and September 5, 2023.

Court papers state Ravette intended to menace with the man.

It is alleged that she put him in a state of apprehension that she would falsely tell his family that she was pregnant.

The charge goes on to say that Ravette also stated that violence would be inflicted on him and his family for the purposes of extorting money from him.

Ravette is claimed to have repeatedly sent messages to the man in which she threatened to tell his family that she had become pregnant by him and that harm would be caused to his family if he did not transfer money to her.

Allegations say that the man was induced to transfer £7,850 by threats.

Ravette did not appear for a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

A warrant was then granted for her arrest.
