A pervert was snared with 944 indecent images of children as young as one on mobile phones in his family's home.

Christopher McGinley, 24, stored the sick haul on the two devices between December 2021 and January 2023.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that officers executed a search warrant for the property in Scotstoun.

Cybercrime seized two black Samsung mobile phones for examination and McGinley handed over the PIN codes.

It was stated that there were images of child sexual exploitation and abuse on the devices.

One phone had 33 inaccessible images while the other had 879 inaccessible images.

The second device also had 32 accessible images.

Prosecutor Redmond Harris said: "These images depicted female children aged between one and 15-years-old."

McGinley pleaded guilty on Friday to possession of indecent photographs of children.

He also admitted taking or permit to be taken or make indecent photographs of children.

Carmen Rowat, defending, told the court: "He understands the gravity of the charge before you.

"He was 19 at the time of the first incident and is now 21.

"He has no previous convictions and has had bad mental health since he was 14.

"My client is no longer living in the family home and now lives in a hotel."

Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Tony Kelly who granted McGinley bail meantime.
