More than a thousand runners from across West Dunbartonshire and beyond are gearing up for the annual Run Loch Lomond 10k, 5k, and Fun Run.

Organised by West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust, the event is set in the idyllic village of Balloch and showcases the stunning landscapes of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

This year, more than 1,200 people have registered for the event so far which is set to take place on June 15, with still time to sign up.

The event draws large crowds, with those completing the finish line earning their medal, race t-shirts, and goodie bags.

The deadline for registering is around the corner and those who want to take part should register now at https://runlochlomond.com/.

For school children who want to join in the Fun Run, instructions have been delivered to primary schools and nurseries.

Pupils are to register via their schools.

Pre-schoolers, toddlers and babies in buggies should register on the day, between 8.15am to 8.45am.

The Fun Run kicks things off at 8.45am, followed by the 10k at 10am and the 5k at 10.20am.

All races start and finish at the Moss O’Balloch Park.

John Anderson, general manager of West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust, said: "This is our biggest event in Balloch and is always a fantastic day for both the runners and the spectators.

"Runners come from all over Scotland to compete in the races and I am pleased to see so many athletes registered for the festival which is proving very popular this year.

"I look forward to seeing all the runners on the day, whether they’re competing in the big races or if they’re running with their parents in the fun run, it’s going to be a great day."

Entries for the 10k and 5k close at 10am on June 13.

To receive the race pack by post, runners must enter by Monday, June 3, at 10am.
