Clydebank train services are returning to normal after a vehicle struck a bridge in Glasgow - but ScotRail is warning passengers that delays are still likely.

Trains running to and from Helensburgh Central have seen delays and cancellations after a lorry struck a bridge between Carntyne and Shettleston stations at about 8.45am on Friday, March 29.

At 10.44am, ScotRail announced trains were running again, but disruption that disruption would continue for the time being.

Among the cancellations are the 10.08am, 10.41am and 11.07am services from Edinburgh to Helensburgh, and the 11.25am from Helensburgh to Edinburgh.

Some other services on the Helensburgh line did not, or will not, run east of Dalmuir.

A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “The bridge inspector has carried out a full examination and we're able to run our trains in this area again.

“We're working hard to get our services back in to place as soon as possible, but alternations and delays can still be expected.”
