“It’s really enhanced the culture of the school and the school community. Therefore, we wanted to do something to celebrate that and to let families get to know each other’s cultures.

“So that’s why we decided to do this and it’s had a great turnout so we’re really pleased. More parents came than we thought would so it’s really good.

“A lot of the children are just really happy that their identities are being seen, that we’re celebrating their different traditions and cultures.

“These events help with community cohesion. People have said that this is a lovely thing to do.

"The pupils have done such a good job as well and some of the children in particular have helped out right from the start, giving me ideas about what we should do.”
