A CLYDEBANK nursery has been raising awareness of the importance of first aid.
Sunflower Nursery held an event to promote paediatric first aid on Saturday, March 16 where parents and children were invited along.
The session lasted for two hours, with the aim of helping children and parents learn first aid procedures such as CPR, recovery position, and how to deal with bleeding, burns and choking.
Susannah Turnbull, nursery manager, said: "Our staff are regularly trained in paediatric first aid by Medicforce1 (an organisation that provides basic to advanced first aid training) who delivered a Parent and Child First Aid session on Saturday, March 16.
"The session was free and welcomed children, their parents and older siblings.
"Our aim was that attending the session would help children with skills to help themselves or others in an emergency and provide adults with the confidence to calmly respond and offer prompt, effective first aid at home should the need arise.
"Over the two hours, children and parents learned important first aid procedures including basic CPR, recovery position, and how to deal with bleeding, burns and choking.
"The children all did brilliantly, learning and administering first aid and the parents who attended found the session extremely informative.
"Everyone who attended received a certificate for their achievements."
