A CLYDEBANK man brutally attacked his victim leaving him permanently disfigured.

Liam Miller appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court from custody on March 12 over an indictment charge dating back to July 19, 2022.

The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Longden Street by striking him on the head with a knife or similar implement.

Court papers state that Miller, of Maclean Street, also repeatedly punched and kicked him on the head to the victim's severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Sentencing was deferred until April 9 for social work reports and a restriction of liberty assessment.

Sheriff James Spy refused bail for Miller and remanded him into custody.
