A MAN has been banned from the roads for being behind the wheel while 13 TIMES over the legal cocaine limit.

Christopher O'Connor, of Melfort Gardens, Clydebank, was found to drive with 129 microgrammes of cocaine per litre of blood. The limit is just 10mg.

The 37-year-old also had no insurance during the incident at the car park off Hamilton Street off Glasgow Road on March 18, 2022.

He previously pleaded guilty to the charges just before a trial. Not guilty pleas were accepted to possession of cannabis and to having the main metabolite of cocaine - alleged to be 800mg per litre of blood when the limit is 50mg.

No further details about the incident or background to the charges were read out at Dumbarton Sheriff Court in a hearing on January 30.

Defence solicitor Scott Adair said it was his client's first road traffic offence.

Sheriff David Hall disqualified O'Connor for 12 months and endorsed his licence. He also fined him a total of £750, with an additional £40 victim surcharge.
