A FAIFLEY woman who was told she would never be able to have children is on cloud nine after giving birth to her ‘miracle’ baby.

Ceri Wilson and her partner Jack Kirkwood welcomed their daughter Millie on October 22 last year - which also happens to be her Granny Lynn's birthday.

However, that wasn’t the couple’s only shock as it was revealed that not only was Ceri expecting but she was more than halfway through her pregnancy already.

Clydebank Post: She said: “I had attended accident and emergency last June as I was really unwell. I thought it was a kidney infection.

“However, a blood test confirmed that I was pregnant but I was told I was really early on. I went for a scan a couple of days later and the sonographer said I was actually around 21 weeks and five days along, I didn’t even have a bump or anything.

“It was a massive shock to see a nearly fully-grown baby on the screen. I couldn’t believe it as I was told from the age of 18 that I couldn’t have kids.

“I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and the doctors said it would never, ever be an option for me which was quite upsetting.

“So I couldn’t believe it and neither could my boyfriend Jack but we were so happy. Millie is our wee miracle.”

Ceri told the Post that it took a while for her to get her head around the fact that she was going to be a mum in just a couple of months but she was “really excited”.

She added that both families were shocked by the news but equally as excited, particularly Jack’s four-year-old daughter Daisy who was preparing to take on the role of big sister.

She said: “My family were all really shocked that I was nearly five months along but they were all really excited and looking forward to her being here.

“My boyfriend has a wee girl called Daisy, she was so excited to find out she was going to be a big sister.

“The year before my cousin was actually in a similar situation, his girlfriend found out she was pregnant and that she was six months along.

“It happened around the same time so there’s only around a year between Millie and her cousin Finn.

“It took a while for me to adjust to being pregnant and I didn’t have too long to get my head around it.

“We had to juggle moving into a new flat and having a baby but it was so worth it. Mum-life is brilliant, Millie is great and smiling away she’s developing into a wee character.

“I can’t even remember what we did before she was here.”
