Skaters, scooter users and BMX riders are now counting down the days until the new Maybole skate park opens early in 2024.

More than £224,000 is being spent on the project, with the aim of ensuring that the new 'wheeled zone' is one of the best in the country.

Local community groups were consulted during the planning stage and their suggestions have been incorporated into the final design.

New pictures have been revealed showing the extent of the ongoing work.

Skate park specialists Bendcrete are using sprayed flexible concrete to ensure they can incorporate all the ramps and slopes suggested during the engagement with the user groups.

The project is being jointly funded by South Ayrshire Council's Place Based Investment Fund and the North Carrick Community Benefit Company (NCCBC).
