A Clydebank afterschool group have been spreading Christmas joy after they took the children in their care to sing some carols for care home residents.

Radnor Park Out of School Care visited Queens Quay Care Home to deliver festive hampers containing goods donated by various local businesses.

Companies that gave to the hampers included Jon&Co Salon, Moso Nails, Nu Me Hair, Dominos, the Quarter Gill and gifts from parents.

The residents received vouchers for a cut-and-blow dry, nail from Megan Reid, vouchers for pizza and a voucher for a meal for two.

The youngsters got to sing, learn more about the care home and the residents and exchange stories about visits from Santa Claus and what they wanted for Christmas.

Tracy, from Radnor Park, said: “The children sang jingle bells to some of the residents and made each resident an individual card with a Christmas message inside.

“The kids also have some grandparents that were in other care homes, so seeing this lovely care home and the kind staff made them feel a little bit happier because having their loved ones in care homes can be a frightening  and worrying time, especially for children.”

The afternoon was branded educational success for both the young people and the care residents.
