A LORRY was found to be nearly 1000kg overweight after it was stopped by road cops in Knightswood.

The vehicle was pulled over earlier today after it was spotted by officers from Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit who were dealing with a separate issue in the area.

Police said the lorry appeared to be a bit heavy.

The 67-year-old male driver was then escorted to a weighbridge.

The lorry weighed in at 4320kg - with the maximum weight for this vehicle being 3500kg.
