Clydebank’s MSP is putting on a second cost of living event for residents.

Marie McNair will join various organisations to discuss and provide help to locals who are struggling financially in the current economic climate.

The event follows a similar meet-up held last year, where Ms McNair joined MP Martin Docherty-Hughes in offering advice as energy prices rose.

However, this year Ms McNair is going it alone and will be joined by representatives from the likes of Social Security Scotland, Scottish Gas, Home Energy Scotland, West Dunbartonshire CAB and Dalmuir Barclay Food Pantry.

She told the Clydebank Post: "Over the last year I know everyone has become increasingly concerned about rising food and energy costs. Households have never been under so much pressure, and often it's hard to know who to go to for help.

"That's why I feel it's so important to hold this event, so residents know they don't have to struggle alone and there are organisations out there to help.

"I would really urge everyone who can to come along. You will be welcomed in for a wee cuppa and the opportunity to have a chat with charities and organisations who can help you."

The cost-of-living event will be held in Whitecrook’s Centre 81 on Friday, November 17, between 1pm and 3pm.
