ERSKINE Bridge drivers are being reminded to expect delays if looking to join the A82 as the slip road gets set for a full weekend closure next week.

Motorists looking to head for Dumbarton and the Vale will instead head towards Clydebank and follow a diversion to eventually get back on the road west when the link road is shut for works from 6am on Friday, November 17 until the same time on Monday, November 20.

Amey, the motorway engineering firm that maintains the road on behalf of Transport Scotland, says the closure is due to "essential" bridge expansion works, and that the 46,000 vehicles that use the section of the road every day will see the benefits.

During the joint replacement maintenance, northbound traffic will be directed onto the eastbound A82 and asked to turn left onto Mountblow Road.

From here, traffic will take the next right turn towards Melbourne Avenue where they will be able to join the A82 westbound.

HGV traffic will continue on the A82 eastbound to Kilbowie Roundabout and will take the fifth exit to join the A82 westbound.

Amey added all schemes are "weather dependent" and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
