Three Clydebank pupils have picked up Young Sports Stars of the Month awards.

Ivy Banks from St Eunan’s Primary School, and Dominic Dolan and Kyro McLafferty from St Stephen’s Primary School received the honour from Sports Scotland initiative Active Schools.

Clydebank Post:

Ivy demonstrated great commitment and motivation in pursuing her love and passion for dance.

She recently achieved phenomenal results in the UDO World Championships at Blackpool where 37 countries competed in the UDO World Championships this year.

Ivy won 1st place World Champion for the U-1- team in the Duo category, 3rd in the World for Solo and 4th in the World for Quad.

Her dance journey started at the age of five when she attended four dance classes a week.

Despite her success, Ivy remains very humble and chose not to take her trophies into school the day after her recent amazing win.

Clydebank Post:

Dominic Dolan was awarded Player of the Year at Clydebank Rugby Club. He loves the sport, inspired by listening to stories of when his grandpa played rugby for Clydebank.

He followed in his brother’s footsteps by playing for Clydebank Rugby Club from a young age and is currently part of the P1-P3 Titan Club, training with them twice a week.

Dominic shows continual commitment to his sport and never misses training.

He demonstrates excellent leadership skills in the sport as well as contributing to team building activities.

Clydebank Post:

Kyro McLafferty was recently awarded first place at the UDO World Championships in Blackpool for hip hop dancing with his team and in his duo.

He is just five years old but as part of his team, was dancing with under 10s.

Kyro has been competing since the age of three and attends the dance studio to train five days a week which shows his real passion and motivation for dancing.
