A 'danger to life' warning has been issued with heavy rain and flooding set to batter West Dunbartonshire this weekend.

The Met Office has placed the area into an amber weather warning status for more than 24 hours meaning homes and businesses will be impacted and travel disruption likely.

Some communities could be in danger of being cut off due to flooded roads.

The warning also means there is a risk of power cuts and outages.

The amber alert will run from Saturday, October 7 at 3am until 6am on Sunday, October 8 and West Dunbartonshire Council have warned natives to be careful.

A post on social media read: "Residents are encouraged to take extra precautions while travelling in this weather and plan accordingly as flooding and transport disruption is expected."
