A CLYDEBANK hospital is set to host a careers and information afternoon aimed at youngsters in the final years of high school education.

The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel is inviting pupils from S3/4 upwards to head along on Thursday, September 28 with the aim of showcasing opportunities within the NHS.

The afternoon will feature a number of different departments in an exhibition-style set-up, showcasing devices and potential careers and providing an opportunity for young people to chat with staff already doing the job.

The announcement of the fair outlines that there is plenty of opportunity within the NHS, many of which don't require a university education.

It reads: "Did you know there were 350 different jobs in NHS Scotland and not all of these involve attending college and/or university?

"Come along to our event and find out about the different routes into your chosen career."

Places at the event are limited so would-be attendees are encouraged to book a ticket early.

Tickets are only needed by students, accompanying parents or guardians do not require a ticket.
