A TURTLE has been spotted basking in the sun in Clydebank.
The reptile, believed to be a Terrapin, was pictured sunning itself on a downed tree in the Forth and Clyde Canal.
Local resident Francis Polding made the discovery whilst out on a walk over the weekend.
Francis, who used to work for Scottish Canals, told the Post he had never seen a turtle in that stretch of the Nolly before.
He said: "There have been turtles in the canal for a number of years, mostly in a short section at Bowling but they seem to have moved down as far as the stretch near Radio Clyde in Clydebank.
"My family and I were walking along the cycle path and saw this fairly large one sunning itself.
"This is the first time I've seen one this far up."
