A CLYDEBANK hospital says it is looking for board members to "help steer the future" ahead of the opening of a new surgical centre later this year.

The NHS Golden Jubilee is on the hunt for two Non-Executive Members to join their Board amid an eventful period for Dalmuir health hub as they open up a Surgical Centre in December.

The national hospital says the high-level vacancies will provide oversight and scrutiny to the full NHS Golden Jubilee family and support the continued growth of the NHS Scotland Academy, national Centre for Sustainable Delivery, Golden Jubilee Research Institute and the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel.

Board Chair, Susan Douglas-Scott CBE, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to join our values-led organisation at a time of exciting growth and change as we will be providing world-class care to more patients than ever before through our new Surgical Centre which is due to open in December 2023.

“At NHS Golden Jubilee we take pride in caring for our patients and the people who use our services and these hugely fulfilling Non-Executive Board Member roles will have a positive impact on patients across Scotland and beyond.”

The Golden Jubilee University National Hospital provides person-centred, high-quality care to patients from across Scotland and is home to the regional and national heart and lung services, a centre of excellence for orthopaedics, a high-volume provider for ophthalmology and a major centre for diagnostics.

The national NHS Board is looking for people who have experience in:

  • finance, audit and risk; or
  • in the planning, delivery and overseeing of major capital projects.

Previous Board Member or healthcare experience is not essential as the successful candidates will be provided with full training and support to develop all the skills needed to fulfil their duties.

Completed applications must be received on or before 5pm on Monday, September 25 2023.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday, November 21 and Friday 24 2023.
