A SERVICE in remembrance of those who have taken their lives will be held next month.

The annual service is set to be held at the foot of the Erskine Bridge – on the Clydebank/Dumbarton side - at around 2pm on September 10 in line with Suicide Remembrance Week.

It is being organised by Clydebank Churches Together (CCT) and there will be poetry, reflection, and prayers. A wreath will also be laid.

At the end of the service, attendees will be invited to release flower petals onto the water.

Reverend Ishaku Bitris, convenor of CCT, told the Post the Vale of Leven Churches Together will also be in attendance, and hopefully representatives from West Dunbartonshire Council, and Dumbarton Churches Together.

CCT is hoping to highlight that support is available for those who are going through a difficult time.

The Samaritans are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can be contacted on 116 123.
