A FIRE at a local play park was started deliberately, police have confirmed.

The Post previously reported that emergency services were called to the park on Radnor Street after the alarm was raised at around 7pm yesterday.

Images from the scene show two slides were damaged during the incident.

In an updated statement officers said they are treating the blaze as wilful.

An investigation into the circumstances of the fire is currently ongoing.

Anyone with any information is being urged to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3365 of August 10.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7pm on Thursday, August 10, 2023 we were called to a report of a fire and disturbance near Crown Avenue, Clydebank.

“Emergency services attended, the fire was extinguished and there were no reports of injuries.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances.

"Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101 quoting reference 3365 of August 10.”
