A WARRANT was issued for a man's arrest after he failed to turn up to his court hearing this week.

Craig Morrison was due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on August 8 after he breached his non-harassment order on August 17 last year.

The court order - which was granted on March 19, 2021 -  was to prevent the 37-year-old from contacting his former partner through telephone, mobile or internet for three years.

Morrison, of Monstrose Street, admitted he broke the order when he approached her at her home in Bonhill.

At his hearing, his defence solicitor Kenneth McGowan said: "I am surprised about that. He pleaded guilty at the pleading diet stage and deferred sentence for good behaviour. He has been of good behaviour."

It was heard that he was present in court in November last year but missed his first hearing in January this year, so the case was deferred until this month.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry issued a warrant for his arrest.

The sheriff added: "I think I have to get him back in the system and there is only one way to do that."
