Scotland's rail operator has apologised to Clydebank commuters after litter caused train disruption for over two hours early this morning. (Monday, August 7)
Network Rail says discarded rubbish discovered at a 'movable section of rail' at Dalmuir caused a short circuit in the signalling system, holding signals at red.

The Clydebank Post understands the fault occurred at 5.41am and around an hour later the litter causing the issue was removed.
Trains were back on the move from that point, but some disruption remained until around 8am as Network Rail and ScotRail worked to get trains and crews back into position.
