A WOMAN has been allowed to seek her own help after she stole from a Clydebank shop twice in a number of days.

Lisa Donaldson admitted to stealing a quantity of laundry detergent at Home Bargains in the Clyde Shopping Centre on November 7 last year.

A few days later, on November 12, she went back to the same shop on Carinthia Way to steal dishwasher and laundry detergent.

The 29-year-old, of Onslow Road, Clydebank, appeared in the dock at Dumbarton Sheriff Court, where it was heard that she told social workers she didn't want people interfering with her life.

Her defence solicitor Stephen Maguire said: "She struggles with structure and order. She wants to change things and she maintains a relationship with the addiction team. She is open to getting support as she needs support.

"It is a concerning situation as she struggles to keep appointments. I think personally she is someone who would benefit from the guidance of supervision."

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry allowed sentencing to be deferred until next year.

The sheriff said: "I am not going to make you subject to a court order after everything you said to the social workers that you really don't want people interfering with your life. I am going to give you the opportunity to run it as you see fit.

"You undoubtedly need help and you seem to recognise that and you are seeking that.

"In six months' time, if I am told that you have not committed a criminal offence, then you will be admonished."
