A MAN turned up to his ex's house uninvited and tried to demand entry in a terrifying incident in Clydebank.

Steven Tweedley turned up to his former partner's property in Morrison Street and refused to leave on May 1 this year.

He behaved in a threatening and abusive manner as he repeatedly struck a door with his hand at the Duntocher home.

Tweedley had previously been ordered not to approach the woman.

We previously told how the 29-year-old admitted to a series of domestic charges in early 2022 and returned to Dumbarton Sheriff Court in October last year for sentencing.

Tweedley, of Alexander Street, had pleaded guilty to adopting an aggressive manner towards his then-partner, shouting, swearing, uttering offensive remarks and throwing items, causing a vase to smash on January 8 last year at the same property.

He also broke a court order not to contact her and repeatedly did so.

Meanwhile, on June 18 2022, he shouted, swore, acted in an aggressive manner, threw household items and placed his now ex in a state of fear and alarm.

He was sentenced to a community payback order (CPO) and given unpaid work.

Tweedley appeared back in the dock on June 13, when his solicitor asked the sheriff to revoke the current CPO.

Sheriff Hendry said: "There is a fairly straightforward and easy option available and that is to give up on you and take out the calculator to work out the longest sentence.

"With the cases I have in front of me at the moment the maximum sentence is four years in prison.

"You will have detected my hesitation to do what I am about to do. The reason for that is that I have doubts based on your prior level of compliance about whether you want to do these things or not."

The current CPO was revoked and the sheriff issued a new CPO where Tweedley will be monitored by social workers for 18 months and ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.

As part of the order he has been granted permission to communicate with his ex-partner, but he has been banned from entering Morrison Street.

He will return to the dock later this year to be sentenced for his recent offence in May.
