A MAN has been ordered to carry out unpaid work - for a second time - after his abuse towards his partner.

Christopher Percy threw liquid at the woman and entered her Clydebank home without her consent.

The Alexandria man previously appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court after admitting to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards his then-partner between September 1, 2019, and December 22, 2020.

During the 15-month period, he threw her mobile phone towards her, repeatedly uttered derogatory remarks towards her and slapped her on the head.

The 35-year-old was granted two separate bail orders on December 24, 2020, and May 10, 2021, where he was ordered not to communicate or approach his ex.

However, Percy, formerly of Summerhill Road, Drumchapel, broke those orders on June 25, 2021, as he was caught on Main Street, Alexandria, with her.

Percy was placed on a community payback order (CPO).

He was put under social work supervision for two years and ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work, with a conduct requirement to attend the Caledonian Men's Programme.

But his defence solicitor Scott Adair explained to the sheriff in a hearing on June 6 that he has since breached that order due to personal reasons.

Mr Adair said: "He started well on the order then there were issues which have been described in the [social work] report which left him unable to complete the unpaid hours of work. As far as he is concerned he will comply with anything."

Addressing Percy, Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said: "I think it is time to draw a line if we possibly can and that to a large extent falls on you."

The sheriff revoked the current CPO and issued a new court order of social work supervision for nine months and for Percy to complete 50 hours of unpaid work.
