BANKIES have been issued a final warning to close their accounts at Clydebank Municipal Bank.
The Post previously reported that the bank, located within Clyde Shopping Centre, is set to close for good on March 31 after 100 years of service in the town.
Customers are being urged to make alternative banking arrangements, move their funds, and close their accounts.
Next steps
Customers should arrange to close their accounts as soon as possible.
A helpline has been set up by West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC) to discuss withdrawal methods, as well as answer any questions and arrange appointments to attend the bank in person.
Contact the helpline on 01389 738682 or 07557 327731 between 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, or email municipal_bank@west-dunbarton.gov.uk.
For further information on the closure visit WDC’s website HERE.
WDC, which owns the bank, blamed the high cost of complying with changes in the law as the reason for the closure.
Clydebank Municipal Bank is the oldest in Scotland and celebrated its 100th birthday in June 2021.
