Incredible photos have shown the River Clyde starting to freeze over as Clydebank braces for a cold spell of weather.

The area has been feeling the chill this week with minimum temperatures set to plunge to a frosty minus seven degrees later this evening.

While many of us are doing our best to stay warm indoors, Post photographer Colin Mearns braved the weather to capture a wintry scene from the banks of the River Clyde as a thin layer of ice began to form on the water's surface this afternoon.
